Ok, file this into the “what in the world?” category, as Dell decided to show off—albeit in a glass box nobody could touch– their all new Latitude Z series 16 inch laptop. So you may be thinking right now “Alright Eli, so why should we possibly put this in the “what in the world?” category?” Well astute reader, I answer you with a couple of pictures:

Yeah, this ain’t a bad “what in the world?” but rather a good and excited one. As you can see, this is no ordinary 16 inch laptop, seriously how in the world did they possibly make it that thin! No real news is out on this guy yet (though it’s rumored to charge WIRELESSLY!!!! Kinda like the Palm Pre and it’s Touchstone dock), and we’ll make sure to pass along info on this once Dell makes it official in, as the Dell rep told me “in the coming days!”
Netbook vs. Notebooks: Which to Choose? May 10, 2009

The Dell Inspiron Mini 9 and Studio 15
For the last couple of weeks, Intel kindly included us in a project to compare netbooks and traditional notebooks (aka regular laptops). So during that time, we put the Dell Inspiron Mini 9 netbook and a Dell Studio 15 traditional laptop through their paces, especially in areas crucial to the daily computer needs of teens. We tested them out doing everything we could think of: Facebook, note taking, IMing, some internet gaming, viewing videos, playing music, and so on.
The comparison was quite interesting and if you’re considering computer purchase in the near future, we strongly advise you keep reading – it’s very likely you’ll want one of these types of computers (netbook or notebook/regular laptop).

Well our finals are finally over, so it’s time for us to get back to “work”. A lot of things happened at CES, and we hope to give you info on the best netbooks, laptops and desktops (aka. regular computers), cell phones, as well as some general cool things we saw happen.
Let’s start with netbooks, and boy were there A LOT of these. HP, Dell, Asus (the guys who really started the netbook frenzy with their Eee PC line), and a bunch of other companies all came out with some new stuff, so read on for some of the best you should look to see in 2009!
Dell and Sony Tease New Laptops December 23, 2008

Looking for a new Laptop but don’t want a Mac? Well sometime in January, both Sony and Dell will release their new notebooks.
On January 9th Sony will unveil this new netbook/laptop whose exact definition isn’t specific (as their picture shows), but some think it might be a retake on the typical netbook (those little tiny computers designed for notes, internet and travel with screens below 10 inches and prices that are well below most laptops).
Dell recently touted their new rival to Apple’s Macbook Air — yes, we said a laptop that could actually be thinner than the Macbook Air! In case you were unaware, the Macbook Air tops out at .76 inches of thickness; imagine how thin the Adamo will be! Dell has confirmed that Adamo, the new mystery laptop, was originally to be released this month, but was pushed back to Feburary.
We don’t know the actual price of these sweet laptops, but you can be assured that the prices might make your wallet run
So are you going to wait it out for these slick new Laptops/Netbooks? Or, are you just going to spring for another computer? Let us know in the comments.

The answer is No. The Dell Mini 12 will be coming out on December 8th (though you can order it from Dell’s site now). (more…)

Get an Xbox 360 Pro or Elite for $50 less! October 3, 2008
Posted by Eli Blumenthal in : Video Games , add a commentWe know Microsoft just gave major price cuts to the entire Xbox 360 lineup (we wrote about it here), but if those new cheaper prices weren’t enough for you to go out and buy one, then this probably will. On the Dell Online Store — yes, they do sell things outside of computers — from now until October 6, when you enter a promotion code at check out, you will be able to save an additional $50 on an Xbox 360 Pro with a 60 GB hard drive (down to $249–same price as the Wii!) or an Xbox 360 Elite (down to $349).
For the 360 Pro: 7V2DJL$PD6NGWZ
For the 360 Elite: NP?CKPRH$KTWLL
These codes are real- I tried them myself, and all you need to do is add the selected 360 to your cart (click on the name of the system before the code above to get the respective page on the Dell Store site), go to checkout, and copy and paste the respective code in the “Add Coupon” section. Oh, and Dell will also include FREE 3-5 Day Shipping!
What this means to you: This is just for a limited time–only the next 3 days– but if you want a 360 for either yourself or for somebody else to get ahead on the upcoming holiday season, now may be the best time to buy it.
What do you think- Is now the time to buy, or does it pay to wait it out a little longer, expecting even better deals as the holiday season comes closer? Let us know in the comments.

Best new Tech from CES: Video Games February 18, 2008
Posted by Eli Blumenthal in : CES and Macworld, Video Games , 2commentsThere were a lot of new video games and related materials announced at CES, here are the interesting ones that we saw.
For the heavy computer gamer: If you are a heavy computer gamer then CES was a good week for you. Three of the top gaming computer makers announced pretty cool new products. We’ll start this list with Alienware who announced a very nice new gaming computer screen. This is not the average screen you have at your home computer, rather its a monster curved gaming screen. This screen has a resolution 2880 x 900 (for those who don’t know what that means, let’s just say it will play you video games in very nice quality), and is over 3 feet wide. It is not out yet but is listed for the second half of this year for price unknown as of now (start saving now- this will most likely cost a lot).
