Fences: Sorting the Desktop Clutter January 5, 2009

Are you one of those people with an insanely messy desktop? Do you have icons out the wazoo and just don’t know what to do with them?
Well, I have a program that’s just right for you. It’s called Fences and it’s from the same people that created ObjectDock. Fences, currently in beta (read: test version, not a fully ready product), is a nifty little program that allows you to sort all your icons, no matter what they may be, into little “fences”.
This really adds to the “coolness” factor of your computer and desktop. Fences is also open and allows several areas of customization.
Like I said, Fences is currently only in beta. Meaning that you need to sign up to get on the list but trust me, it takes about 5 minutes to set up and is well worth it. Check out the screenshot of my desktop with Fences running:

Pretty sweet, eh? So, once again, Fences works for Windows XP and Vista, and is easy to get- just go here and sign up. Also, you can watch a cool Youtube video here. Let us know what you think.

This looks like windows 3.1 with cooler icons. We called them “windows” and they lived in the “program manager.”
