I don’t know about you, but I listen to a lot of music and of every genre- rock, rap, and pretty much everything else. Naturally, I therefore have a tremendous library from both iTunes and CD albums stored on my ipod but recently, an increasing amount of that music I don’t actually own by download through YouTube.

But what if I said there was an all-new, revolutionary website that allowed you to listen to any song for free?

Whats the catch? You can only listen to each song once. After that, you must pay a $0.10 fee to play a song an unlimited amount of times from their website (or you can just buy it). If you decide you like it, you can then buy it from iTunes or Amazon MP3 and the $0.10 fee paid for unlimited plays will be counted toward the purchase price.

Another cool part of Lala is that you can download the Music Mover and Lala will copy every song on your computer to your online catalog so that you can listen to it anywhere, even if you don’t have your iPod or music library. And a nice little bonus: they throw in 50 free song credits when you sign up.

I currently am using this feature and it’s amazing– a huge step in non-DRM (Digital Rights Management) music. If you’re worried about viruses on your computer or something similar, you shouldn’t be. It’s completely safe and very user-friendly.

I absolutely love Lala and think that with a little more tinkering, it could be perfect. If they can somehow add a subscription price at about $10 or $15 a month with which you can listen to and download any song you want, then it may become the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Go ahead and try it. At the very least, use up your 50 free song credits :) . I guarantee you’re going to love it.
