Whoosh. Bejewled Twist from Popcap.
Today, Popcap Games (they make Bejeweled) announced the latest entry in the Bejeweled series: Bejeweled Twist. Now, having not had the chance to actually play it yet (it came out a couple hours ago), I just want to comment on the Twist in Twist that separates it from the other series.
In case you don’t know, Bejeweled is an insanely popular puzzle game that has you swapping colorful gemstones to make matches of 3, 4, or 5. In the earlier games, only switches that made matches were allowed. However, from what I can tell, it seems that this rule has been abolished, allowing you to move gemstones without necessarily making a match. I could be wrong though, since this is based off a 30 second video on the Popcap website. The Twist on the old Bejeweled game play seems to be that instead of swapping on gem with a vertical or horizontal neighbor, you instead select a group of 4 square gems and rotate them to make matches.
It seems that additional or new power-ups will be in the game as well, judging by the above screenshot. More updates as we get them. Have fun!
