Leaked Images of the New MacBook Pro? August 27, 2008
Posted by Aidan Galea in : Computers, Rumors , add a commentIt appears the rumor mills have started up again as supposed leaked images of a new MacBook Pro surface. The image below shows the new MacBook Pro to be similar in appearance to the MacBook Air, possessing an aluminum casing and a black keyboard, with the notable exceptions in design being the thickness and placement of speakers (at the side here as opposed to the Air’s “hidden” speaker in front of the screen). It also features its traditional back-lit keyboard, multi-touch trackpad, webcam, among other standard Macbook features. It also weighs in at a nice 5.1 pounds. Not much else is known as of yet, but we shall keep you posted as the upcoming Apple event in September nears.

New Xbox 360 Dashboard Arriving in November August 26, 2008

New Xbox 360 Dashboard Update
With all the rumored Xbox 360 price cuts for September, Microsoft must have the sick new dashboard just around the corner too right? November actually. The new update is scheduled to be release in 3 from now. Just a quick recap on what makes the update a must have:
- Ability to save on and play games off the Hard Drive (instead of disks)- In short, this means quicker load times (big plus), lower risk of freezing with no more scratched disks (bigger plus), and an overall better gaming experience (biggest plus). However, you will have to keep the game you’re playing in the 360′s drive due to “pirating reasons” (people stealing games by making illegal copies of them).
- Avatars (like the Wii’s Mii characters)- Not exactly sure how this will go, but we do know these will be your players in downloadable Xbox Live Arcade games like Uno!.
- Netflix Support- This will make the Xbox 360 even more of an entertainment device, allowing you to not only buy HD and standard definition TV shows and movies, but you can now rent from the larger Netflix library and straight to the 360.
- New “Floating Panel” Interface- We mentioned this is similar to what Windows Vista has with that new flip 3D interface, and the released pics of this new interface (see pic above), look both intuitive and aesthetically stunning
Sound good? November is still a couple months away so sit tight until this “mandatory (Microsoft’s words not ours) update” comes. In the meantime, tell us what you think of the new update, the 360, or just your video game console of choice– and what they should do to fight this update if necessary– in the comments.

Latest Updates to PS3 and PSP August 26, 2008
Posted by Chaim Gartenberg in : Video Games , 1 comment so far
Sony recently announced updates to the Sony PS3 and PSP lines.
Regarding the PS3:
- A new package was announced that brings a new 160 GB PS3 (Over the new- though now old- 80 GB), a copy of Drakes Fortune, a voucher for the Playstation Network game called Pain, and a Dualshock 3 (the new PS3 controller that has rumble)- for $500 in October.
- A new wireless keyboard that can be attached to the top of a controller was announced- similar to the Xbox 360′s chatpad. However this can also be used to wirelessly pair with any device via Bluetooth and used as a keyboard for it (i.e. paiing it with your phone and using this as a full keyboard).
Regarding PSP:
- Despite its age (there hasn’t been a “new” PSP 2 since it launched- a couple years ago), Sony announced another new model of PSP, the PSP-3000, which takes the already spectacular screen and kicks it up another notch by making it even brighter, adds a built in microphone for in game chat, as well as Skype calling. This will all be launching in October for $199.

The New PSP 3000
Theres the little update for you. What you think- you gonna hold off that PS3/PSP buy for a little bit longer and get one of these updated systems, or do you find the updates unimportant and will buy the exsisting versions, or will you buy a DS, Wii, 360 or PS2 instead? Let us know in the comments.
