Alright, there’s been an insane amount of news regarding a new iPhone model, an updated design, GPS and 3G internet speeds, for quite some time now. AT&T has already confirmed that such an device will exist sometime, and many clues– a stock shortage of iPhones in the US and UK, the plethora of spy shots of the “iPhone 2″, as well as Apple’s upcoming World Wide Developer’s Conference– have most of the tech world buzzing in anticipation of Apple’s announcement or even release of the new iPhone at the conference.

iPhone 2?

Let me just clarify: This is not a guaranteed thing. First, it is a DEVELOPERS conference; it is not meant for general consumers. While much press seems to lead to the contrary, just because it is an Apple event, Apple may not necessarily launch the iPhone then. Personally, I feel that Apple is more likely to concentrate on the 2.0 software release with the App Store; the developers would care more about the software then a new device. But whatever Apple does, we do know one thing: It will be interesting. We’ll have more coverage as WWDC approaches.
