Ok, this is really starting to bug me. For all their merits, the Wii remotes battery life is just god-awful. I’m serious. I change these things battery’s like every month give or take. That is a bit excessive for a controller. My 2 battery powered Xbox controllers, are still going strong, from November 07′ and February 08′ respectively. Also my Nintendo Wavebird controllers, which seem to have become self-sustaining, haven’t had their batteries changed since about 2004, and that was maybe their second change. When I dusted the Wavebirds off to play Super Smash Bros. Brawl, they still worked. In fact I left one on overnight last night, and the thing STILL works. The Xbox 360 rechargables are Ok, except for the fact you need to leave the Xbox on while they charge, and likewise for the PS3, and they hold about as good as the Wii remotes, except I don’t need to keep changing their batteries. Nintendo really either needs to figure out how to replicate the Wavebird’s longevity or make the next generation off Wii remotes rechargable.
